What is Flatbush Fest?
Created by Heidi Woo and Daniella Khan, Flatbush Fest is a 3-day festival in Flatbush, Brooklyn designed to bring together the diverse residents and businesses of Flatbush. The festival will combine local food and craft vendors, collaborative art, games, entertainment for kids, live music and more.
The goal of Flatbush Fest is to increase connectedness and community among residents in the Flatbush and neighboring areas. It is an opportunity for neighbors to gather, meet, and celebrate the unique characteristics of this historic Brooklyn neighborhood. Heidi and Daniella want Flatbush Fest to serve as a catalyst to connect people to each other as well as the great programs that exist in the community.

Why Flatbush Fest:
Because “love is love” (Lin-Manuel Miranda) Flatbush Fest exists to build harmony and give back to Brooklyn. We want to celebrate the diversity of Flatbush and its neighboring communities, as we create an opportunity for connection and cultivating love among all residents facing economic and social change.
Flatbush Fest is a free event for neighbors to connect, meet and have fun together. Flatbush Fest creates a platform for local nonprofits to engage the community. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the “life changers” at Flatbush Development Corporation to support their programs serving the public.

Flatbush Fest is a partnership with FDC – a nonprofit organization that creates meaningful programs and events for Flatbush and surrounding areas. FDC has been a mainstay in the Flatbush community since the 1970’s. What started out as a grassroots effort to help newly arrived immigrants acclimate to their American lives, FDC has grown its programs to include housing assistance, youth programs, and events such as galas, Victorian House tours and street fairs.
